Channel Islands YMCA received a $75,000 grant for a new facility for street outreach services for young people. The grant will expand access to confidential case management and support services for young people living on the street by funding one year of rent for a dedicated drop-in center in downtown Santa Barbara. DignityMoves received a $75,000 grant for a case management office for a new interim housing community. This grant will provide critical services for homeless people in transitional housing by funding construction of a private, on-site case management office.
Foodbank of Santa Barbara County received a $55,000 grant to provide home delivery of groceries to seniors. The grant will expand home delivery of food to impoverished older adults by paying for food to be delivered to an additional 360 senior households. Freedom 4 Youth received a $100,000 grant to fund a “Fem-powerment" program to support girls in the juvenile legal system. The grant will fund 75% of staffing costs for a program director and a youth and family engagement manager to establish the program. Girls Inc. of Carpinteria received a $100,000 grant for an on-campus mental wellness program. The grant will fund a licensed therapist to provide weekly therapy sessions for 200 school-age girls and quarterly workshops for parents. People's Self-Help Housing received a $40,000 grant to expand the College Club. This grant will pay for additional advisors and tutors to expand the College Club Program from 10 to 50 students. Sanctuary Centers of Santa Barbara received a $100,000 grant to support a mental health integrated care clinic serving youth. This grant will double the number of children and adolescents receiving psychiatric and counseling services by funding two bilingual therapists. Santa Barbara Education Foundation received a $100,000 grant for an outdoor learning environment at Harding Elementary School. The grant will support the creation of an outdoor learning environment for 250 pre-school and elementary students by funding site preparation. Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics received a $100,000 grant for a Mobile Dental Clinic. The grant will expand access to free and affordable dental care for underserved children, adults, and seniors by partially funding a state-of-the-art mobile dental clinic. SB ACT received a $100,000 grant to support Neighborhood Navigation Centers. This grant will assist 300 individuals to move from street-level homelessness to permanent supportive housing by helping pay for part-time staff to operate the centers. Storyteller Children’s Center received a $55,000 grant to support a family advocate program. The grant will support the needs of 60 to 70 families of at-risk preschool children by funding the salary of an on-site family advocate, plus costs for office space, professional development, and operating a parent support group.
