ANNOUNCEMENT |
Introducing: New Women's Fund Look and Tools
Welcome to this first edition of our new Women's Fund e-newsletter—part of a new system of communications tools designed to update our look and improve our efficiency and connections to the local community and to each other.
Today we are introducing the new Women's Fund logo and launching a new membership database, a new website and a new format for the e-newsletter.
Thanks to the generosity of the Santa Barbara Foundation, these new tools have been developed without impacting our grants pool. By underwriting our development costs, the Foundation is helping us continue to maximize our combined donations to the community, minimize our operating expenses and support the volunteer energies of our members and leaders.
Our new communications tools will help us stay focused on our mission—combining our resources to improve the lives of local women, children and families—as we launch our second decade.

New Logo

|
Graphic designer Lynn Penkingcarn, Communications and Marketing Officer, Santa Barbara Foundation, explains the genesis of the new logo she created:
|
|
"The three nested circles represent Women's Fund members coming together to affect positive change in the community at large. Collectively, the circles create a strong continuous unit that is simple in overall form while evolving internally in dynamic ways. The openness of the circles symbolizes an invitation to new members and new ideas.
The colors of the logo align with core values of the Women's Fund: blue representing integrity, white representing simplicity and gray representing objectivity.”

New Database
As an all-volunteer organization that has grown ten-fold in the past decade, the Women’s Fund has needed a more efficient means to track our membership and retain historical records. You are encouraged to join or renew online because the database is designed to automatically update your membership information and to process a separate secure payment.
Please note that we remain committed to protecting the privacy of our members and users of our website.

New Website
By clicking here you will enter the new Women’s Fund website. We think you will find it more graphically pleasing and easier to navigate than our old website.
We’ve built in tools that allow you to look back at the Women’s Fund’s creation and evolution, as well as our principles and the leaders taking us forward. The functionality is vastly improved as well. You can easily join online, view our past grantees, see our most recent members, read about our leadership team, read reports we’ve written and find answers to your questions about the Women's Fund.

New Newsletter
Since 2007, we have shared important news, announcements and invitations via monthly electronic newsletters. Over time we eliminated nearly all paper communications, turning to electronic media to reduce costs—even for our annual ballot to select new grantees.
Today we launch a new format that has more capabilities and is easier to create and read. Watch your email for these newsy updates.
