Anticipation is mounting. What agencies will receive the 2008 Fund? The recipients will be announced at the Fifth Annual Presentation of Funds Luncheon, Monday, February 9, noon, at El Paseo restaurant.

All Women’s Fund members who contributed $250 or more are invited to attend. There is no charge as the event is underwritten by John and Meredith Scott and Kathryn Calise.

Our membership has grown and we will have a waiting list for this year’s luncheon, so reserve early.

Welcome Ron Gallo: Although we will miss Santa Barbara Foundation President and CEO Chuck Slosser who recently retired, the Women’s Fund looks forward to a continued partnership with the Santa Barbara Foundation with Ron Gallo as the new president and CEO.

Changing Lives Together: As many of us are uncertain about what 2009 holds for our economy, Women’s Fund leaders are planning ahead to assure another successful year of “Changing Lives Together.” We already have two new groups and at least one new individual member. Membership letters for the 2009 Fund will be mailed April 3.

When needs become greater, the Women’s Fund will respond. Helping those less fortunate than us seems basic to our collective philanthropy, now entering its 6th year.
