By now, you should have received your invitation to the 6th annual Women's Fund Site Visit, coming up on September 23rd. This is a "don't miss" event - and it is free, thanks to the generous members who have underwritten all our costs!

Casa Esperanza Homeless Shelter received $90,000 from the Women's Fund in February for a volunteer coordinator who was hired this spring and has already recruited some seasoned and experienced volunteers.

One new volunteer helped a member of Casa Esperanza write his resume so he could go on job interviews which led to a permanent position at a local fitness club. Another volunteer is a local community executive who is leading classes twice a week, providing job development training to 20 Casa Esperanza members. Classes cover a wide range of topics from online job searching, resume writing and interview techniques.

These are just a couple of examples of how the volunteer coordinator funded by the Women's Fund is starting to make a big impact on the Casa Esperanza community.
