Slipping Into Homelessness - Who, Why, and Strategies for Prevention

The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara cordially invites you to our Grants in Action Expert Roundtable addressing homelessness prevention in South Santa Barbara County. Join us for a spirited and engaging discussion that will provide insights into the early warning signs of impending homelessness and offer prevention strategies.

The panel will explore the value of prevention versus crisis management and the potential of public-private partnerships and philanthropic investment to intervene before families become homeless.

This is a unique, not-to-miss opportunity to listen in on a conversation between our grantees and civic leaders as they problem-solve together to find solutions to homelessness in our community.

EXPERT PANEL:

  • Sylvia Barnard, Executive Director, Good Samaritan Shelter
  • Kathleen Baushke, Executive Director, Transition House
  • Jett Black, Manager, Santa Barbara County Homelessness Assistance Programs
  • Rob Fredricks, Executive Director/CEO, Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara
  • Kristine Schwarz, Executive Director, New Beginnings/Safe Parking

The Roundtable will be moderated by Women’s Fund member Maureen Ellenberger.
