Community Service Awards

Many outstanding organizations help shape Santa Barbara County, particularly those who advocate for women in need. To recognize, honor and celebrate the achievements of these organizations, the Santa Barbara County Commission for women established the Commission for Women Service Awards, which is celebrated annually.

The recipients demonstrate their commitment and service to the Santa Barbara Community 365 days of the year and the Commission takes pride in shining the spotlight on them. One organization is honored from each of the five Supervisory districts.

Lori Goodman of Isla Vista Youth Projects (IVYP - soon to become “LEAP”) received the 2023 Commission for Women Service Award for the Second District. IVYP received grants from the Women’s Fund in 2008, 2013, 2016, and 2019.
