Members witnessed how New Beginnings Counseling Center is providing vital mental health and life-building services for our community. New Beginnings is a safety-net organization that serves over 2,000 low-income individuals and families per year with psychological guidance, housing assistance, and supportive services. Its Counseling Center, Safe Parking Shelter and Rapid Rehousing Program, Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program, and Life Skills Parenting and Education Program provide much-needed aid to residents throughout Santa Barbara County. With a 2024-2025 Women's Fund grant, they hired a new full-time front-desk staff person and have increased clinical hours for two current intake coordinators, one of whom is Spanish-speaking.
