Biography

Katie has been an active member of the Women's Fund since 2019, first as a group member and later taking on the role of captain of her own group in 2023. She has loved growing within the organization and is excited to step into her new role as the volunteer coordinator for the educational events committee.
Passionate about supporting women-led initiatives, Katie has been involved with several organizations over the years, including the National Charity League and Junior League.
She earned a bachelor's degree in Child Development and spent many years teaching preschool at a local school before making the decision to stay home with her four children.

Kelly Lazarus

Biography

Kelly Lazarus serves on the Grants In Action committee and is a Group Captain with the Women’s Fund.
Originally from the Midwest, Kelly relocated to California and built a career leading programs and operations for tech startups across sectors including healthcare, education, and real estate. She recently launched her own consulting practice, where she combines structure, creativity, and momentum-building efficiency to help teams turn ideas into impact. She’s also a bit of a data and AI nerd. A passionate community advocate, Kelly has held volunteer leadership roles at Washington Elementary, taught mindfulness to children, and can often be found joining local beach cleanups.She is known as a cheerleader for others, a lifelong learner, and someone who brings people together around meaningful projects and initiatives.

Linda Stafford Burrows

Biography

A member of the Women’s Fund since 2011, Linda has a Masters in Law & Social Policy and a Masters in Social Services from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work & Social Research. Linda’s work has focused primarily on Child Advocacy, advocating for and establishing Music & Arts Education programs, and strengthening communities. She has served as president on many hard-working boards including The Children & Families Action Network (Alameda County, CA), Solvang School Education Foundation (“SAM”), Valley Community Theatre, Santa Barbara Strings, and The Santa Ynez Valley Foundation. It is an honor to be part of accomplishing the work of The Women’s Fund directing the collective philanthropy of women to help other women and children and families to transform lives for the better.

Marnie Pinsker

Biography

Marnie is a native Californian, born and raised in Sonoma County, happily married with one adult daughter. After working for the County of Ventura Executive Office early in her career, she became the Administrative Director for the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office for 27 years until her retirement. Among her diverse responsibilities managing the DA’s Office, she supervised both the Child Support and Victim Witness Assistance Programs.

She has been involved with several community initiatives, including the Planned Parenthood Choice Affairs Program and the “compeer” program at the Music Academy of the West. In 2019 she joined the Women’s Fund as a member of the Fabulous Friends group. She looks forward to expanding her participation with the Grants In Action events.

Norma Mesa

Biography

As a new member of the Women’s Fund, Norma is excited to contribute her expertise while supporting its mission of empowering and strengthening the community. She has a long history of involvement with local nonprofit organizations, including Unity Shoppe and the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, and is passionate about service, humanity, and giving back. Norma’s vision is to leverage her professional experience to build meaningful partnerships and foster collaborative relationships among nonprofit organizations. As a Hispanic woman, she takes great pride in her cultural heritage and in being a native Spanish speaker. She is a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion and is committed to creating opportunities that support and uplift diverse communities. In addition to her volunteer work, Norma is an active member of the Greater Santa Barbara Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where she continues to support initiatives that promote community engagement, economic growth, and cultural awareness. Norma has degrees in Human Resources Management and Business Administration.

Roberta Collier

Biography

As a member of the Women's Fund since 2018, Roberta currently serves as a Board member and the Educational Events Committee Chair. She retired from a long career in public education that encompassed diverse roles in teaching, curriculum and administration at preschool through university levels in Northern California. She loves learning, has a rather nerdy background as a historian educated at UC Davis, and will happily engage anyone in conversation about how the past affects the future. Since moving to Santa Barbara in 2015, she and her husband Matt have been involved with several local not-for-profit agencies in their effort to add value to the community they dearly love.
