After a 35-year career, Holly is now liberated from working for a living, and instead likes to donate her talent, time, and resources to good causes. The most recent good cause, having joined in 2020, is the Women’s Fund about which she is quite enamored. Previously, she was pleasantly surprised to find deep meaning in volunteering to work closely with men and women who live in prison – some of the hardest working people she has ever met. Additionally, she has been a member of a few nonprofit boards around town. Holly’s longest stint during her career was more than 20 years in the outdoor industry with outdoor retailer REI in Seattle. Working at REI for a couple of decades reinforced an ethic of balancing hard work with serious play. Her final career chapter was as owner of a local small business for 12 years, motivated by a strong drive to create a particular culture, which team members and clients alike would find exceptionally rewarding. Holly has a love for reading and dancing, but not at the same time! Her family chose to move to Santa Barbara 20 years ago without having jobs or knowing a soul. No regrets!
