This grant will pay for the purchase and installation of eight walk-in shower units.
PathPoint provides services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome and people with severe, persistent, mental health conditions. The agency owns six behavioral health properties in Goleta and Santa Barbara.
In addition to affordable housing, they offer a range of services including counseling, case management, and programs that help residents strengthen workplace capabilities, build life skills, and develop meaningful relationships.
Four PathPoint properties are equipped only with bathtubs, which pose safety risks and hygiene challenges for residents with poor balance or limited mobility. Government contracts that pay for PathPoint’s behavioral health services cannot be used to cover renovations for safety and accessibility.
