Biography

Lori has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2022. She has a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Colorado and a degree in Computer Science. She has worked as a computer programmer at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratory. She has spent the last fifteen years owning and working in a small engineering software company which sold in 2018. Previous Lori has volunteered as board member of the Albuquerque Academy Parents Association, heading the newsletter and library committees. She and her husband Ken moved to Santa Barbara in 2009 and have two sons, Hurst (Carbondale, CO) and Alex (Irving, CA).

Mary Luthy

Biography

Mary joined the Women's Fund in early 2019. She grew up in an Air Force family, moving frequently until settling in central Illinois. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Champagne Urbana, Mary has a BFA in Painting. During her 40-year career in communications, Mary worked in a variety of industries, including small ad agencies, not-for-profit homes for the aging, not-for-profit publishing, engineering services, as well as Southern California Edison and Beckman Coulter, a subsidiary of Danaher. She was also active in the International Association of Business Communicators, serving on local, regional and global boards. Mary and husband Curt moved to Santa Barbara in 2018 when they retired. Since then, she has also served as VP Communications for the local chapter of Newcomers.

Biography

Sarah has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2005. She grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in journalism. During her 30-year career at AT&T, she served as President of the AT&T Foundation—the company's philanthropic arm—and as Chief Operating Officer for AT&T's 300-person global public relations division. She served on national nonprofit boards including the Advertising Council and the Council on Foundations. Since retiring and moving to Santa Barbara in 2000, Sarah has chaired several Women’s Fund committees: Research, Communications, Membership, Grantee Liaison as well as serving as the Chair of the Steering Committee for more than two years. She was a docent at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and is a sustainer of the Assistance League of Santa Barbara where she served on the board and headed several committees. In 2010, the Junior League of Santa Barbara named her their Woman of the Year.

Biography

Susan joined the Women’s Fund in 2022 after moving to Santa Barbara from Orcas Island. She grew up in Pacific Palisades and graduated from Pitzer College and holds an MA in English and America Literature from Claremont Graduate School. Susan worked as Associate Dean of Admissions and Development for Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, but made her home on Balboa Island, making her a very early “remote worker.” Following her marriage, she relocated to Seattle, Washington where she worked in Fund Development, primarily for organizations serving women and children. She retired as Development Director of Treehouse, an organization serving all foster children in Seattle, and King County. Susan was a founding member of the Washington Women’s Foundation, serving as President of the Seattle Junior League as well as numerous nonprofit boards and commissions. She was honored to attend a White House Conference on Children’s Health, and has very much enjoyed all of her advocacy on behalf of children, both in her state capitol, and in “the other Washington.” Since moving to Santa Barbara Susan has become a Member of the Assistance League, Junior League of Santa Barbara Sustainers, and Newcomers Club in addition to the Women’s Fund.

Susan Matsumoto

Biography

After years In the toy industry, including her own packaging design firm in NYC, Susan Matsumoto partnered with her husband Mel Kennedy to invent and license inventions for the toy, housewares, hair appliances and accessories industries. The move to Santa Barbara in 2012 was a life-long dream for both of them, and she is now very happy to be involved in the Women’s Fund. 

Tracy Jenkins

Biography

Tracy Jenkins joined the Women’s Fund in 2016.  She most recently became mailings manager on top of starting her own Women’s Fund Group. Tracy was born and raised on the East Coast living in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.  A 1985 graduate of Principia College in Illinois with a BA in Business and Photography, she began her career as an entrepreneur starting a desktop publishing business in 1987 from her apartment in Newport Beach.  Her career expanded into PR, Marketing and sales as she spent more than 10 years as an independent sales reps for brands like Teva, Etonic, In*Sport, Josef Seibel and more. Since moving to Santa Barbara in 2010 she has become active in philanthropy and volunteerism. In addition to her connections with the Women’s Fund, she is Board President for Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara and a walk-on Cross Country & Track coach at San Marcos High School

Vicki Collins

Biography

Vicki joined the Women’s Fund in 2021. Rural southeastern Michigan is home to several generations of her family. While attending Michigan State University, a Parks and Recreation professor provided a path to seasonal work in a western national park, launching Vicki’s 33-year federal land management career. Completing requirements for a BS and MS in Park Management, Vicki then worked in recreation, wilderness, and land management positions with the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service in Washington, Colorado, Idaho, Arizona and California. Several career breaks occurred after meeting and marrying Bill Ringer, as his aviation and marketing skills lead to eight years residing in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. As an expatriate, Vicki volunteered with several organizations, edited a magazine, served on and chaired committees, and filled board positions. Arriving in Santa Barbara in 2001, Vicki worked for Los Padres National Forest until 2022. She participates in book clubs, tennis teams, Santa Barbara Club events, an international organization providing grants to support women and children, and enjoys yoga, pickle ball and hiking.
