Biography

Born and educated in the United Kingdom, Anne immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 22. She worked as an executive assistant for various intellectual property law firms in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She held leadership positions in several volunteer organizations, including The Junior League of Northern Virginia, Reading is Fundamental of Northern Virginia, Dominion Guild, and National Capital Lawyers Auxiliary. At present she is on the board of American Lawyers Alliance, whose mission is to foster understanding and respect for the American legal system. She enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling. She joined the Women’s Fund in 2022. She and her husband Al retired to Santa Barbara in 2016 from Virginia. They have one daughter, who lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.

Jacki Belt

Biography

Jacki Belt has been a member of the Women’s Fund since 2013. She received her BA from the University of Colorado with a major in English Literature and a minor in Philosophy. She further received both an MA and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. As a licensed psychologist in private practice, she treated individuals, couples and families as well as providing group therapy. She volunteered her time to present many programs to groups, schools and church organizations on topics such as Eating Disorder Prevention, Healthy Parenting and Raising Resilient Children. She was also a member of the Eating Disorders Consortium, the Christy Heinrich Foundation, Planned Parenthood and various local and national professional organizations. She enjoyed consulting and acting in an advisory capacity on team-building and communication skills. Having raised a family and lived in Kansas City for nearly 40 years, Jacki retired her private practice and moved to Santa Barbara. The Women’s Fund attracted her interest as a way to become involved in the community and to meet/ work with interesting women committed to making positive change. Jacki served on the Research Committee from 2014 to 2016.  Currently, she acts as the Chair of the Volunteer Engagement Committee and participates on the Board of Directors.

Biography

After joining the Aloha Spirit Woman’s Fund group, Joanne was so impressed that she started the Santa Barbara Associates group with the core membership coming from Santa Barbara Associates, a woman’s executive group.  She is a real estate broker with her own boutique firm.  A former teacher, she is volunteers with Partners in Education, is a trustee for the Santa Barbara Club Preservation Foundation and an active member of the Santa Barbara Sunrise Rotary.

Biography

Kathy has been a member of the Women's Fund since 2018. She is Chair of the Volunteer Engagement Committee and a member of the Events Committee and the Operations Management Team. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education, M.S. in Elementary Education, and an M.A. in Educational Leadership. She has taught elementary through high school, and has served as a District Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, California State Board of Education Academic Trustee, and Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Santa Barbara County Education Office. She retired in 2019 after a rewarding 35-year career in public education. She and her husband, Whitt, have lived in Santa Barbara since 2009 and have two amazing children, Meghan (Washington DC) and Trey (NYC). She is thoroughly enjoying travel, hobbies, fitness, play and volunteering with the Women’s Fund in retirement.

Nancy Chase

Biography

Nancy joined the Women’s Fund in 2017 as a group member. She is a 2020 member of the Volunteer Engagement Committee. In 1953 Nancy performed in a concert of local musicians and college students that marked the beginning of the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra. As a member of the bass section of the orchestra she performed until retiring in 2011. She was also a longtime performing member of the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra and the orchestra of Opera Santa Barbara. Today, she is passing along musical skills to young bass students, elementary to high school ages. She is a graduate of UCSB with a BA in Elementary Education and attended the Music Academy of the West. As a community volunteer, she served as Board Chair of the Mental Wellness Center and remains active with the MWC Education Committee’s program for sixth graders “Mental Health Matters.” Nancy enjoys fabric arts and has designed and fabricated numerous banners for local sacred spaces.
