Grant Description: Many children from low-income homes, transitional housing, or shelters and have no transportation to programs for counseling, educational enrichment, tutoring, social activities, camp, healthcare appointments and college campus tours. Last year, Easy Lift collaborated with over 50 groups and provided over 7,300 rides with no cost to the families. This grant pays for van maintenance, insurance, fuel costs and 1.5 full-time equivalent drivers for one year, dedicated solely to this program. Easy Lift will sustain this program by charging membership fees to collaborating agencies and increasing its revenues from its “Adopt-a-Van” program, which sells advertising spots on its vans.
